The Ancient Alumni Meet

I got conned. I was told that there would be people from my institute and there were none. I met people who had passed out in 1957, my father's colleagues (who I am not too fond of, to be honest) and one of my batchmates' grand uncle! Such is my sorry life.

P-Nickel (digression before I start - CAN one get pumpernickel bread or sourdough bread in this city?), you should have stayed on.

Cinnamon has a great ambience with the space and the windows, but frankly the food was of uneven standard. Shall try it again some time on the strength of your reco.
Pizza Factory ... do they serve good brown bread with olive oil warmed up with garlic slivers? I'd say the acid test would be carbonara.

You have inspired me to post some of my Rome pics as well. You lived there?

I'm searching for sourdough bread myself. I don't know yet, but you do get sourdough breads in Bombay and Bangalore. When I find some, shall let you know.

Are you a foodie as well?

One should only stick to what in Calcutta is called "continental" food in cinnamon and not touch the Indian food even with a bargepole. I strongly recommend the seafood platter, seafood in general (again, NOT Indian). I've been to Cinnamon thrice and the food was outstanding, surprisingly so, to be honest.

I don't remember if the Pizza Factory has carbonara or not, let me check the next time I am there. The spaghetti bolognese, the lasagna and the pizzas are easily the best in town, with the exception of Hyatt. And I am right now in the process of posting salad pics from the Pizza Factory. The actually serve rocket, which I've been searching for high and low here in Cal.

No, I've not lived in Rome, I was just there for a conference and a short holiday this summer.
