Death Is Not The End

We attended a prayer meeting held for the dearly departed father of one of SO's friends in Delhi recently. It was at a Arya Samaj Mandir and I was generally appreciative of the no rites and a sober remembrance thing.

The Pandit (preacher) started off well by chanting Gayatri Mantra and other funereal mantras and shlokas and then, suddenly burst into a very Bollywood, "Chal ud Ja Re Panchi", which startled everyone off their wits and in my opinion woke everyone up and generally made everyone struggle hard not to burst out laughing.

Who needs entertainment, when friends and family offer themselves so readily. Right?

Delegation 101

Yesterday was a work event. An important work event. I was feeling unusually confident about the abilities of my co-workers. So, I delegated cutesy photo taking to an underling. These are the spectacular results. Not one, not five, but SEVENTY THREE examples of stellar photography. Well played underling, well played!

AMAZON - I LOVE YOU

I would shop for EVERYTHING on Amazon if they delivered everything in India. One can only buy books, music and DVDs in India (They don't deliver anything else), so I stack my shopping cart and when the dollar is down, make the purchases and then wait and wait for them to deliver. They give you impossibly long wait times, but I normally get everything in 15-25 days.

Life has been horrible off late, so when I got my Amazon package today, it made me happy, happy, happy. What could be better? I truly think, I am the world's best gift giver - and this is the first time I've gifted myself something, so now I know for sure. Hang on! What's my housefull of clothes then? Umm... I think its the parcel in the mail that does it. AND I'm listening to Gainsbourg as I plonk out this post. Oh my!

Making Me Smile

After a call that seems to go neither here nor there, I watch stupid reruns on tv. Oh Wait, that's Mick Jagger on the Simpsons!!!!
